Bio...
Sounding like a Pinto fire with guitars, The Papillomas play fast and fuzzy
pop music. They sing songs about trans ams, rock stars, and corn. And their live show as been known to attain "Platinum Blondesque" proportions. In the past year these chunky lads from Vancouver Island have seen the release of their debut cd "Corolla," a live performance on CBC Stereo's Nightlines, musical inclusion on a TSN snowboarding video, shows at Music West and NXNE, plus a cross Canada tour.
Discography...
Corolla CD (1995)
CFUV's A Full Dynamic Range compilation (1995)
Parka cassette (1994)
Early Morning Freon cassette (1992) Formed in 1991 in Nanaimo, BC, THE PAPILLOMAS bash out pretty noise with a patented two-guitar assault, heartfelt raggedness, and pop-laden hooks usually associated with college rock hotspots like Chapel Hill and Athens, Georgia. They've played with the likes of Archers of Loaf, Supergrass, Modest Mouse, and Elevator Through Hell, as well as performed live on CBC FM's Radio Sonic, Nightlines, and Realtime; and has appeared on Much Music's the Wedge, the Indie Spotlight, and Much West. THE PAPILLOMAS' most recent release, a spiffy six song e.p. called When Years Were Bee Stings was recorded at Scott Henderson's Sea of Shit Studios (Nomeansno, Hansen Brothers, Show Business Giants) while the band was briefly a three-piece. Now, back to a more rock prowess number of four.
