Eric Benson and Urban Legend White Horse

label:Mirage Music
Shortly after its release in 1997, Eric Benson’s first CD “Close the Door”, gained accolades from veterans in the music world, and received airplay on FM, college radio and AM stations here in BC, and on budding internet radio stations and music sites worldwide. The “Door” is actually a window into the soul of this gifted artist. Eric is known for his ability to put pure emotions onto paper, and capture an audience within the songs striking melodies, and his soothing vocals. He has shared the stage with music icons Amanda Marshall, Ian Tyson, Juice Newton, Valdy, Queen of slide guitars Ellen McIllwain, and Roy Clark, to name a few.

Now, come and experience Eric’s latest mix of truly heartfelt and stirring songs on the “Eric Benson and Urban Legend White Horse” album. Released to an audience of over 200 who braved the only snowstorm of the year in Campbell River to hear not only the new songs, but also the music of his new band, “Urban Legend”. With the sultry vocals of Cathy Kalyniuk on harmony and taking the lead in some songs, and the smooth angelic vocals of back up singer Johanne Abbis, each of Eric’s songs was and continues to be showstoppers. From the medieval settings of both “The Rain God” and “White Horse”, the incredibly beautiful love ballads, “More” and “Just One More Time”, to the haunting reflections of “Angel in Mid Flight”, you will want to play this CD over and over again. Eric’s first appearance in Nanaimo at the Lighthouse Pub Songwriter’s Circle in May was nothing short of electric, and everyone waiting for his return.

"These songs are a reflection of the romance and the spirit of the cowboy, impressions of my early years on the Prairies, love songs and songs of the seas. I never get tired of singing them, folks keep requesting them and to me that means they are standing the test of time. I hope the three new songs added to this collection will do the same. "   Gary

Gordon Carter
Rivers & Roads

Gordon’s debut CD "Rivers & Roads" has been a long time coming. The CD, produced by Doug Cox, was released in July 2005, and contains 13 self-penned tracks . It features some of BC’s finest musicians such as Daniel Lapp, Diamond Joe White, Tammy Fassaert and Sue Pyper.

Gordon Carter is a rare breed in this world. He writes from the heart and writes about his local heritage and homeland. He is the kind of songwriter that defies time. In this day of mass-produced music, his work stands up against the classic songwriters of our day. If we had a 2005 Woodstock, Gordon Carter would be there.

A Goat On Every Floor

currently unavailable

A Goat on Every Floor was made possible by the Canada Council of the Arts and has been awarded The "100.3 The Q! Album of the Year" award at the 3rd Annual Island Music Awards in Victoria May 2004. We recorded A Goat on Every Floor with our good friend Adrian Dolan who plays with The Bill's (formerly The Bill Hilly Band). It was mastered by Joby Baker at Baker Studios. I can honestly say that it's the best CD ever. The most exciting thing about this CD (besides the influence of Adrian, and the greatest graphics ever seen) is that unlike our first CD, A Goat on Every Floor is full of original music!

For nearly 15 years Helen made audiences in the UK laugh with her stand-up musical comedy routine. But now she has decided to follow her first love by singing the serious songs that were behind the comedy she was performing.

Since moving to Comox Valley a year ago, Helen became one the NITHS winners and went on to play at Island Musicfest. She now gigs around the valley regularly playing venues such as Café Blah Blah Blah and Joe Reads.
