This Salt Spring duo describe their sound as Western Canajun Roots Music Song Poetry.
Jeannine Munn and Dan Rudick make up the Salt Spring duo of Jack (Jeannine) and Lefty (Dan), who released their first CD in 2000. Their acoustic sound combines meaningful lyrics and catchy melodies in a sound they describe as Western Canajun Roots Music Song Poetry.
Dan honed his songwriting in Los Angeles and Austin, Texas. He was inspired by Townes Van Zandt of Nashville and Texas roots music songwriting circles. Jeannine has extensive classical voice and theatre training and plays mandolin accompaniment to Dan's guitar.
Dan and Jeannine met in Kamloops, British Columbia, and teamed up to play throughout Western Canada and the southwestern United States. Touring took them to Calgary, Austin, Santa Fe, and points in between, before they returned to British Columbia in 1996.
They now make their home on Salt Spring Island, where they recorded Snapshot Pictures.
