Fiona Stuart
Fiona Stuart is a Vancouver Island songwriter with an eclectic past. From a young age Fiona has travelled the world and has recently moved to Montreal seeking inspiration and a place to further her musical career.
Fiona has a passion for singing, composing her own music, and performing fostered in her by her inspiring musical mother(a multi-instrumentalist and vocal coach). Fiona has released 3 C.D.'s - one with Mosaic (a pure folk group she was involved in for 4 years in Nanaimo), a solo project: Songs FOr Mona Lisa , and this summer released : The Secret voice of Mona Lisa .
After moving to Montreal, Fiona has been performing extensively with Montreal jazz flutist and bassist Craig Dionne, and the music and guitar technique has evolved from a heavily influenced folk sound to a more percussive funk-folk style.
In a recent review of Fiona Stuart her voice was likened to having the strength of Joan baez but the sweetness of Judy collins. Fiona's performances are always spiced with compositions in French, Japanese, Yiddish and English. Fiona has entertained audiences on Vancouver Island, Montreal, Europe and Japan .
