Storyteller: Big
Mrs. Elephant was taking her time
Swinging her trunk from side to side
When down flew a bird and sat on her head
Laughing and singing, here is what he said:
Mr. Bird:
I am Mister Bird and I can fly high
No one laughs at me when I dance in the sky
You're a funny elephant with that great big nose
It looks like a fireman's long water hose
Ha! Ha! Ha!
I am beautiful, my pretty feathers shine
Your skin is wrinkled, dusty most the time
Why don't you use that silly
firehose Ha! Ha!
To wash your back, it's as funny as your nose
Chorus... We all look funny,
Ha! Ha! Pout!
Take a look at yourself from the
inside out
Storyteller: Mrs. Elephant paid no mind to
him
She walked to the river, wearing
a grin
She filled her trunk with cool
water
Then aimed her nose at Mister
Bird
While Mister Bird kept laughing
She sprayed him in the eye
Her back was clean and so was he
So wet he couldn't
fly
Chorus... We all look funny,
Ha! Ha! Pout!
Take a look at yourself from the
inside out
Storyteller: Then Mrs. Elephant said...
Mrs. Elephant: My dear Mister Bird, you look
all wet
Fluff your pretty
feathers
Let me dry your little head
You are right, I look
funny
And it's true I cannot fly
But I am Mrs. Elephant and I
like me inside
I can laugh at me and I can
laugh at you
Take a look at
yourself, a bird can laugh too
Outside we are
different Ha! Ha! Pout!
Inside we are all the same from
inside out
Chorus... We all look funny,
Ha! Ha! Pout!
(twice) Take
a look at yourself from the inside out
