YOU'RE MY BEST FRIEND
I remember the first time I came to school kinda' scared and strange until I met you (you understood) You smiled at me, you shook my hand By the end of the day, I had a friend (in you)
I've made a lot of friends around me; we laughed alot, you taught me to But I'll never forget what you said, when you left You're my best friend, you're my best friend No matter how long you're away, I'll remember you're my best friend
You stepped in for me, I spoke up for you We understood, trusted secrets, and spoke the truth We were always together, we played a lot Never made the other do what he didn't want to do (we always talked)
I'll never forget the day that you left Your Dad changed his job, I felt regret I didn't want to see you, didn't know what to do It felt like my first day at school (I didn't want to let you go)
Please forgive how I acted that day I was loosing what I wanted to stay I know I'll make friends, I'm friendly that way But best friends like you; they just don't come every day (Oh they don't come every day)
But I'll never forget, what you said when you left You're my best friend, you're my best friend No matter how long you're away, I'll remember You're my best friend, you're my best friend
